CAERC improves the Digital Trade Hub implementation
The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication continues to promote “Digital Trade Hub of Azerbaijan” established according to the Decree of the President Ilham Aliyev on the “Additional measures to strengthen the position of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a Digital Trade Hub and expand foreign trade operations” beyond the country. Particularly, relevant measures have been taken to provide non-residents with e-signature as well as “ASAN signature” certificates by diplomatic representatives and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) also contributes as an operator of the “Digital Trade Hub of Azerbaijan” and increases cooperation with the diplomatic corps.
The head of Strategic planning and development department of CAERC, Ramil Huseyn also met with the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Australia, Fiji Republic and New Zealand in Canberra. Trial lawyer, Eljan Habibzade stated that they conducted a relevant discussion with Digital Transformation Agency of Australia in order to provide mutual recognition of e-signature and “ASAN signature” in Australia. He emphasized that cooperation opportunities with Australia in this field is being considered. He also noted that the information on providing non-residents with e-signature and “ASAN signature” certificates has been translated into English and posted on the internet data resources of the embassy and relevant promotional activities are regularly conducted.
After completion of relevant procedures, foreigners and stateless persons living abroad, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan permanently residing abroad, and legal entities operating abroad will be provided with e-signature certificates.
